Ansonic faced the challenge of optimising the performance of their 868 MHz remote control. The original electric monopole antenna showed weaknesses in range and hand effect. Our team developed an effective solution without extensive simulations. We replaced the monopole antenna with a proven magnetic loop antenna from Antennity. This was mechanically adapted to the slightly curved housing. After integration, a thorough measurement of the antenna gain was carried out in three axes. The result was convincing:
- The range of the remote control increased significantly.
- The disruptive hand effect was completely eliminated.
These improvements greatly enhance the reliability and user-friendliness of the remote control. The magnetic loop antenna ensures consistent performance, regardless of the user’s hand position.
