Friedrich Telematik has set new standards in indoor positioning with the order for a development of a groundbreaking antenna solution for Bluetooth positioning. The company commissioned a redesign of a conventional planar linear rectangular patch antenna, which led to an innovative circular patch antenna with a hexagonal shape of the circuit board. This unique geometry not only enables improved signal acquisition but also the modular composition of powerful antenna arrays. The combination of the advanced antenna design and specially developed server software results in an impressive positioning accuracy of up to 17 cm. This precision significantly surpasses the performance of conventional Bluetooth-based systems and opens up new application possibilities in various areas such as logistics, healthcare and retail.
