Bluetooth QFH Antenna with Claude AI and NEC
How do you create a circularly polarised Bluetooth antenna simply by giving Claude AI a clearly formulated prompt? This free chapter from the book Antenna Design shows you how, step by step.
Claude AI calculates the geometry of a quadrifilar helix antenna for 2450 MHz. It then generates a complete NEC2 file. The prompt takes into account the radius, pitch, height, segmentation, feed points and the phase sequence for right- or left-circular polarisation.
What makes this special is that the prompt is not limited to the Bluetooth QFH. It generates the NEC2 input files for all antenna types that NEC2 can model. These include dipoles, monopoles, Yagis, loop antennas, inverted-F antennas, helical antennas and many more.
The QFH is particularly useful for Bluetooth when the orientation of the IoT device (Bluetooth tag) is unknown. It receives linearly polarised signals regardless of the rotational position of the Bluetooth tag’s transmitting antenna. Ideally, the fixed polarisation loss is 3 dB. In return, the connection remains stable even if the device is rotated, tilted or carried.
This chapter contains the finished, ready-to-copy prompt. You can use it directly in Claude AI, simulate the generated NEC file and compare the results with your own requirements.

A 20-page excerpt demonstrates how to create a circular quadrifilar antenna for 2400 MHz using text prompts, without requiring detailed mathematical or physical modelling. The same approach can be adapted with a prompt to generate an NTN antenna for bands 249, 255, or 256. The book encourages practical experimentation with the presented methods.

Create a circularly polarised Bluetooth antenna with a single, clearly formulated prompt. This free chapter from Antenna Design shows how Claude AI calculates a QFH for 2450 MHz and generates a complete NEC2 file. The prompt is not limited to the QFH. It creates NEC2 files for all antenna types NEC2 can model. The QFH keeps the Bluetooth link stable when the tag is rotated, tilted or carried. The ideal polarisation loss is 3 dB.
