Selecting, integrating and certifying IoT antennas — in a single day
ntennity, the globally active design house and manufacturer of antennas, invites you to a hands-on workshop. Here you will learn how to develop and optimise antennas for IoT devices. The training course will introduce you to modern, manufacturer-neutral antennas and show you how to get them working in your device. The focus is on applications with a view to global certification. Antennity stands for transparency, innovation and open collaboration – values that are reflected in the workshop.
Participants will learn how to integrate antennas into complex devices and improve their performance. Licence-free PCB-track, PCB/FPCP-loop and PCB-patch antennas will be examined in detail and compared with traditional SMT chip antennas. This will give you a clear understanding of the advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, cost, effort and design freedom.
Practical materials and exercises
All participants receive free test PCBs with licence-free layouts, as well as DXF, Gerber and KiCad files. These resources enable you to apply the concepts you have learnt directly to your own devices. To complement the workshop, we offer optional practical exercises using the MegiQ VNA and the MegiQ Radiation Measurement System (RMS).Â
You measure, calibrate and improve — a straightforward way to combine theory and practice.
KEY TOPICS
- Analysis of ten IoT development projects, plus one further project tailored to the client’s requirements.
- Choice between licence-free antennas (PCB track, loop, patch), licence-required antennas and SMT chip antennas.
- Use of open-source software for antenna simulation.
- Differences in certifications and approvals (CE, FCC, UKCA, ANATEL, PTCRB/GCF).
YOUR BENEFITS
- After the workshop: evaluate antenna concepts, read datasheets and test reports, assess certification risks.
- Reduction in component and certification costs.
- Tailored content: We’ll clarify your requirements in advance via a questionnaire to tailor the training to your specific needs.
AIM OF THE WORKSHOP
You will learn how to select antennas that reduce costs, save energy and offer optimal parameters.
