Triptec works closely with Antennity, which acts as Triptec’s external business development partner. On the basis of this cooperation, individual antenna systems are developed for IoT developers. Triptec’s antenna and hardware expertise flows directly into practical solutions and supports the realisation of tailored systems for demanding IoT and wireless applications.

A successful example is the Gillette order button from 2016. The IoT developer bought Harald Naumann’s IoT M2M Cookbook and copied the multiband antenna for Bands 3, 8 and 20 onto the PCB. The prototype worked immediately. Handing the project over to an external engineering office was not successful. There were problems with harmonics in the radio module and antenna. Triptec solved the antenna so well that smartphones from major manufacturers had no reception in the underground car park, but the Gillette order button did. In addition, the power consumption for button detection and timer on was reduced to 500 nA. 22,000 Gillette order buttons were produced per year.

The second row of images shows further multiband antennas based on the antenna from the IoT M2M Cookbook. Many readers copied the antenna successfully and modified it in part to create unique IoT devices.
