MoxyByte was faced with the task of ensuring reliable LTE-M 450 MHz receiving in the shaft for KRITIS monitoring and increasing the range. In addition to robust hardware development, the team relied on the Antennity Chip Loop Antenna, whose frequency range was individually matched to 399 to 1650 MHz. This solution offers significantly improved building penetration in the 450 MHz range, which is crucial for underground installations or shafts surrounded by attenuating material. The same loop antenna technology is used in IoT devices with NB-IoT and LTE-M in bands 8, 20 and 3 in Europe. To further optimise receiving, the cellular loop antenna would be rotated by 90 degrees. The compact ground plane is optimised for limited space and the influences of nearby metallic and non-metallic objects or damp walls in the shaft.
The advantages of magnetic AntennityLoop technology: reliable receiving even with unfavourable installation, minimised interference, no interference with additional antennas for Bluetooth. The IoT device offers OTA updates and automatic commissioning, reducing installation effort and increasing flexibility for operators.
The MoxyByte SULPI device can withstand individual challenges: water pressure, temperature fluctuations and variable geometries in the shaft are mastered by the robust enclosure and smart antenna adaptation. Cloud integration ensures responsive alarms and flexible process integration.
